In my days I was not equipted with taser gun. The defensive tools I had were handgun, baton, and pepper spray. Whenever I confronted a suspect I used the least amount of forces possible. I went from the least threatened to the deadliest amount of forces. At my disposal I had verbal command, hand on with arrest control techniques, pepper spray, baton, coratids restrain technique, and firearm. The most prefered method to subdue someone was verbal command. The least prefered method was firearm.

All of the above. Which is why we carry all that crap around our waist.
Officers use the minimum force necessary to make the arrest. Verbal commands work out great for everyone, but one way or the other - the arrest will be made. Each dept has a force continuum policy in place. Officers are trained (and held liable) to follow the policy.
We don't get paid to fight, we get paid to enforce the law. The arrestee is the one that decides if he wants a beating.

I really, really like just asking someone to turn around because we have some administrative business to tend to. Most of the time they will actually turn around and get cuffed. You have the occasional POS that wants to argue and takes a fighting stance. I give them one warning, and actually tell them this is their one chance. Objective is to stay very calm with a monotone voice and let it soak into their thick skull what I just said. If they don't comply, darts fly.

Id use little hand to hand to subdue you followed by short bursts of taser action to finish you off.

shoot em all... let god sort them out !!!! Seriously though.. If the cops use any force, it was needed to prevent harm !!! I support our forces, theyve helped me in my time of need. Im sick of skum bags stealing my ^&&*%.
