This brings back memories of the very best kiss I ever had. I had been dating this wonderful guy for quite a few weeks and he had not kissed me yet. I was giving up hope of anything ever happening, so one night I went all out to get him to kiss me...... I wore the lowest cut top I had, I kept touching his legs whilst sitting down, flicking my hair, smiling and flirting, but nothing!!! We drove home to his house and sat on his bed talking and talking and the next thing I knew the sun was rising. By now I had totally given up and thought that he just wanted to be friends. I lay back on the bed and looked up at him and then.............. I watched like in slow motion as he moved towards me. I was terrified and excited all at the same time. And then it happened and it was the most electrifying kiss I have ever had! Afterwards he laughed and said that he loved that look on my face. It was well worth the wait.......... to this day I don't know why he waited that long amd whether all my flirting helped! But hey when it does happen, it'll be brilliant!

Why does a guy always have to initiate the first kiss ? He may be a bit shy, so just go for it. Some guys actually like it when a girl makes the first move.

The first kiss is part of the human mating sequence, and is something guys should know how to initiate through instinct. Although in our modern world social conditioning through the media, and reinforced through our parents are a cause of many problems for, making them not respond to their instinctual behaviours.
Getting someone intoxicated with alcohol will quite often make them respond through their much more instinctual behaviours. This is a reason why many people act in a very primitive way when drunk, ie they fight, eat, have sex, sleep.
For reference for other guys the human mating sequence is as follows:
initiate and hold eye contact
smile and start verbal communication
light touch to hand/shoulder/arms
move in closer, look into womans eyes
touch hips/back
glance down to lips, and back into eyes
move half way in for kiss, she will move in the other half
gradually touch lower, from her butt, through to genitals
oral sex
sex
These are the stages and order they should occur, and can take anywhere between a few hours, or weeks.

in response to your question, you could try getting him to initiate the first kiss by holding him close, looking into his eyes, and glancing down to his lips, then back to his eyes...
If he doesn't get this hint, you should be asking yourself if you have the right guy.

not to avoid the question, but along the same lines...I, as being a guy, feel it special when the girl initiates the first kiss, if a guy went out on a date with the girl, and she still has his attention at the end of the night, he wants the kiss...but...the kiss is killer...when the women kisses me, then i know that i did things right...i actually get chills when i don't have to give the first kiss and it comes out of nowhere...mid-conversation...

Go to the cinema, put your arm around him or let him know its ok to put his arm around you... maybe nuzzleing into him.
So he thinks he can get away with putting his arm around you and risk feeling your boobs, then move nose to nose with him and you should start kissing as he feels your boobs.
Or tickle fights till one is pinned.
Or games where the winner gets a kiss, fondle, bra etc.
ie all give touchy feely permission

Actually, I think it has... Usually, though, getting someone else to do it is kind of chancy. Take the initiative, and run with it!
