When it says to use "cream" in a creamy potato bake does that mean thickened cream or whipping cream. Probably a stupid question but I want to make it and I only have whipping cream.

Whipping cream is just fine! you can alternate with half & half...it's all about how thick you like the sauce.. if it get too thick you can thin it out with some milk or stock (vegetable or chicken). Happy cooking!

I love creamy potato bake and ive used both whipping and thickened cream. I think thickend tastes better though!!! But thats just my preference!

I would use pouring cream or sour cream , whipping cream is the same as pouring cream isn't it ?? Yum I love creamy potato bake the ultimate comfort food !!!

Whipping cream should work just fine. As long as it's not already whipped.

use the whipping. it's fine. milk or 1/2&1/2 will work in a pinch

it means heavy whipping cream.
