You almost never see Buddhist's or any other religion preeching to other people to join them or insulting other religions that aren't their own.

Because the last true Christian died on the Cross! I think Nietzsche first said that.

Paul wrote with regard to the could initiate up the uninitiated into the sacred secrets and techniques of the mysteries of God. regrettably, that's no longer normally understood interior the non secular circles that have heaped much extra 'mint, cumin, and dill' onto the recent believers. somewhat than preserving them removed from any church committees and busy-artwork household projects they as a replace immerse them right into a pretend-religious custom of churchianity. Church leaders reason those human beings to be so busy or maybe positioned them in positions of authority that they assure stunted religious enhance in those human beings for an prolonged time. Not all christians do this. I am a christian and cannot recall ever beating anyone with a bible and would dislike it if someone tried the same with me. People need to leave everyone else alone. Christians should be a little less christian and more like christ and other religions should be tolerant as well.Atheists and agnostics too.

In order to be a good christian you are supposed to "plant seeds" by going around spreading the word of god. It's not just Christians doing this though. I used to deliver beer to gas stations and I swear to some god, (^.~), the cashier who was of some kind of Arabian decent, was being harassed by fully decked out Islams with pamphlets about their organization. If it bothers you that much when those people come to your door, I highly suggest playing some Slayer at high volume while drinking a beer and insisting that they come inside and join you; worked for me... I haven't seen them since.

No one is trying to push it on anyone. It's a choice that one has to make for themself.
But Christianity is different to Buddhism.
Pretend that everyone around you is suffering from an incurable disease. You are safe from the disease, but everyone else,if they don't get the cure, willl die a horrible death.Their torment will never end. Now,you have the cure. You want to tell as many people about it as possible, because you know how important it is to spread the word about this cure. You are doing it out of concern for those suffering.
Now can you see ? Christians are telling you about this cure because they care about you a lot. They may be overly pushy and militant sometimes. But the intent is good.

Non-Christians's & Athiests push their believes, too. Like, say on Yahoo! Answers--haha;)
You have to understand that Christianity has denominations ('schools of thought'). There are several denominations; very few go door-to-door.
And to the people that say it's 'a profit business'--that's very few also. I've seen those that do get condemned in the news. You're local churches are very often good, hard-working people forming a non-profit organization---their extra money after payroll & operating expenses goes to charity.
Christianity condemns things like killing & rape...if you believe Athiests are so great, then maybe you should move into a prison. (That's a generalization back at ya, haha:)

Maybe YOU don't see it from other religions...
You can't just single out one religion from the others. The question seems a bit biased.
Your question has to contain some fairness without discriminating.
And I'm not Christian either...
If someone is content in their religion, you can't blame them for wanting to share with others what they feel in their hearts as the truth.
And because other religions feel the need to spread the "word" unlike your religion, does that entitle you to put them down, and suggest that they are not the children of your god?

No, in fact the Buddhists have never come preaching at me - so I went to find out what they were all about. I was pleasantly surprised! I went to a Zen temple, and I learned the basics of sitting meditation. I respected the way they let the individual find his/her own path. No one "pushed" anything on me, I was (and am) - free to come and go.

Because they think everyone should be saved so they can go to heaven... And because they have nothing better to do with their time. As for insulting other religions, it just goes to show how un-Christian they are. My mother is one of those hypocritical Christians. It's all hogwash.... Believe in yourself and that's all that matters.

It's not all Christians. I'm pretty sure the name for this type of Christian is Evangelical.
But you are absolutely correct. I've never been harassed by someone of any other religion to convert , only Christians, and again, I think they're called Evangelicals.

yeah its annoying isnt it. especially jehovah's witnesses, get off my doorstep! but lets not just bash the christians, theyre just doing what the bible tells them too, and they are making a massive fool of themselves because theyre trying to help us. also, its not just christians....
also, christians rarely insult other people's religions, and if they do, its not nearly as much as other religions we could mention.
im not a christian, i dont even believe in god, but it pisses me off that people can say whatever they like about christians, but if you said that about jews or something people would think you were some sort of nazi.
