Since my teens I dreamed of proving myself I could be a one woman man so I kept virgin but things are not always what one may expect so now I need to know.
Besides going out and dating other people is there any other way to forget about someone? She was never my gfriend, she didn´t even like me, she never kissed me and I never knew why I fell in love with her. She hardly started to accept to go out with me when suddenly a rich family man took her away from me. I will never look for her as now she belongs to another man but I started to worry because soon I will be 40 and this happened ten years ago and I still wake up in the middle of the night thinking of her. Would you say I need psychological help?
Do you think this could be only an obssesion? I only want to get her out of my head. Please tell me what you think.

P.S. I would never tell any therapyst I´m still virgin so, on line therapy would be perfect but I don´t know if it exists. Dating other people has not functioned so far.

I think that you should receive some help, if only for your own happinesss. Maybe she was "the one" for you, but you may also be idealizing her memory which will prevent everyone else from measuring up. You may be missing out on a lot of great people.

I agree with jazzman. In essense tho, what if even after some professional help this persists? The only solution I'd see is if somehow you could find or run into somone else who'd have the same (or greater) effect on you.

Now, you might be running circles yet it would at least negate any type of previous 'obession' and who knows, the next could actually work out :]

I've been in the same situation, and it's been very recent, in fact. The best you can really do is realize that she has her own life, and you have yours. Going out to meet others helps immensely, and doing your own thing is the best. Sometimes it's hard; believe me, I know. But you're the one who has to turn the page, since she has already. Best of luck.

Join the French foreign legion. If more people would join the legion France would still have a empire.
