It is only the Wahhabi / Hanbalite school (branch) in Sunni Islam which forbids men to wear gold and silk. The other three muslim branches, the Malikite, Shafiite and Hanafite and the Schiites allow it. It is not written in the Qur'an, but only in the Hadith. The Wahhabis / Hanbalites see the Sunna/Hadith as to be obeyed strictly, while the other schools see them as mere recommendations coming from the perfect example of the Prophet's behaviour.

Abu Musa Ash'ari transmitted from the sayings of the Prophet: "Wearing of silk and gold has been made unlawful for the males of my Ummat (community) and lawful for their females."
Imam Tirmizi reports the same.

regardless of we are informed is haram by way of quran and hadith would be haram so particular featuring silk and gold. the prophet (pbuh) would desire to fairly handle to pay for any worldly luxuries if he needed there replaced into various wealth given to him relatively after battles yet he favourite the user-friendly existence-type and gave decision to the luxuries of the hereafter quite than those of this international i wouldnt call that being undesirable it incredibly is the way of the prophet to stay a standard existence-type and chorus from worldly stuff like i discussed above that isnt referred to as being undesirable. to stay a standard existence-type is extra acceptable and is the way shown via the prophet (pbuh)

There's no verse in the Quran saying so.. Only Hadith.

Translation: We are ordered to follow funerals, visit hospitals and ill people.. reply whomsoever seeks help, stand against prejudice.. Fulfill any oath............
And we're (Men only) forbidden to use silver food plates, wear Gold, Silk.......

Abu Dawud, Book 32, Number 4046:

Narrated Ali ibn AbuTalib:

The Prophet of Allah (peace_be_upon_him) took silk and held it in his right hand, and took gold and held it in his left hand and said: both of these are prohibited to the males of my community.

This is just one of them.
