The limiting factor is the CBT (which you have to take first). You only have two years to complete the theory & practical, otherwise you have to do the CBT again. In the meantime, if your licence runs out, just renew it.

as long as you need to be able to pass test if the license runs out get another one

You can take your bike test anytime after completing your CBT (compulsery Basic Training)

it can be pretty much anytime. you just book your test and head on down, but i do reccommend having a practice first
