why would an animal have such a soul?

Yes I have. You know a lot of people would say humans are the only thing with a soul. These are usually people who look forward to an after life, whatever that is. Have you ever seen the movie "Primal Instinct". Dogs, like most other animals and plants live much closer to the original than most humans.

I am sicken by some the answers on here. My dog Adora, is the most special thing to me right after my g/f. She is always there to greet me even if I just went to check the mail. She is always right there at the foot of my bed when I wake up in the morning. And if I'm having like the worst day ever, she's there to cheer me up by doing something crazy that I just have to laugh at. Dogs show more emotions than any person I met. I think it proves that they have souls. Dogs are more loyal than any person I met as well. A person will stab you in the back just to either get by or for kicks. A dog will be your friend through anything and everything....even to the point of death.

I know, dogs only require four things in this world: food, water, endless cuddles and the occasional walk. They love you constantly. I have two beautiful dogs, and they always want to be around me. Unlike people, its like they are physically unable to hate someone, all they ever do is love me. Dogs are such beautiful, uncomplicated creatures, and I love them everyday for it. Even when I have a horrible day, and yell at them for something stupid, they'll just come back to me and give me a hug (I've trained them to give hugs- its really cute!!) I hope that helps you! :)

That is the beauty of animals… they have the ability for unconditional love. You could have a bad day, come in the door, and yell at the dog for no good reason… 5 minutes later they are right back making sure you are alright. I’m sorry to admit, but I like my dogs better then I like most people.

But its only a dog's love|

A dog (or a cat) can love only with a natural affection (storge)|

But a human can love with friendship (philia), and the selfless love that can be called charity (agape)|

When this is integral, it brings a vastly higher degree of *joy,* *happiness,* and *pleasure* to one than any animal can|

But the down-side is, when a human goes wrong - i.e. opts for evil, selfishness, and exploitation in a relationship - the pain is like no other|

That is why the seeking of human love and friendship always involves risk|

I completely agree with you. Dogs are truly man's best friend. They are such loyal companions to humans and I think they make the best pets. Dogs are God's gift to mankind. I loved my Korean Jindo, Jenna. She was the greatest pet anyone could ask for. She was loyal to the death, never EVER showed any sign of aggression towards me or even strangers, never barked once, always was excited to see me. I miss her so much :(

This probably shows that animals are Souls, and that some of them can be advanced too. In fact, many of us humans would do well to learn divine, unconditional love from some dogs.

The primary difference between human beings and animals is that man is made in the image and likeness of God (Genesis 1:26-27). Animals are not made in the image and likeness of God. Being made in the image and likeness of God means that human being are like God, capable of spirituality, with mind, emotion, and will - and - have an aspect of being that continues after death.

My baby doggy loves me so much, I have no way of resipracating that love back to him. I've done nothing that I can think of to deserve such love. He just GIVES it to me. Every day. No matter my mood, or how bad I look that day. He just.....loves me. *weep*

I have heard that dogs have the emotional level of a 7 year old human child. That means that they enjoy pleasing you (as though you were a parent) and they are completely devoted to you... even children who are abused still love their parents and crave their approval.
