If he wants a real (flesh and blood) friend, he would be dreaming about a girl who would make him feel comfortable talking to her, and being around her.
If he wants a fantasy girl, he would dream of a girl who would make him forget about being shy, and just act like a "dream" kind of guy.

Someone hot who will understand them and wont bag on them but will stand up for them...and it may not be what they want but chances are(at least the times ive seen) when they end up with a spontaneous crazy girl they end up getting more outgoing and spontaneous and overall happier..(but that may not be their "dream girl")
