Did they believe that their repent and good work cannot be accepted unless someone die on the cross?

Did they believe that man is going to hell by "default" and they were waiting for some one to change this?

If not them why call Jesus a gift & way call his message "god news"?

Is it good news to know that you and your ancestors were deceived by God for thousands of years?

Eze 18:21 "But if a wicked person turns away from all his sins that he has committed and keeps all my statutes and does what is just and right, he shall surely live; he shall not die.

yes, the jews were and still are waiting for the messiah (jews dont really call it a savior).

they did not believe in someone dying on the cross and they do not believe in hell. unlike christians, jews believe that people are naturally good. (christians believe that people will never be as good as jesus and are by default bad.)

jews were told to do "mitzvot" (commandents) which are good deeds by god when they recieved the torah (which is the old testament). it is believed that when people have done all 613 mitzvot, the messiah will come.

and no, the jews have not been decieved by god.

hope this helps!

That depends on which "sect" of the Jews the person belonged to.

There were (and are) several branches of the Jewish religion by 0 AD

At the Time of Jesus' ministry (his last 3 years living in the flesh on earth) the 2 primary divisions (sects) of the Jews were the Pharisees and the Sadducee's. One believed in an afterlife and resurrection. the other group believed essentially that when life on earth ended you became nothing.

Both the Pharisees and Sadducee's expected the Messiah to be an earthly ruler, to bring the Jewish people into world dominance. They did not expect "The Christ" or perfect sacrifice for all sins who was establishing a kingdom in heaven.

Some have since accepted Jesus as Messiah and Christ. These are the Messianic Jews (and they spell Jesus' name using the transliteration of His Hebrew name.... which is probably more correct than the practice of most "protestants" and "Catholics".)

>>"Did they believe that their repent and good work cannot be accepted unless someone die on the cross?"<<

no. this is not what was believed.

God can forgive however he wishes, there is no accountant watching over God to make sure all the accounts are paid.

>>"Did they believe that man is going to hell by "default" and they were waiting for some one to change this?"<<

there isn't even an eternal hell to go to, in Judaism. God forgives. there is a place of TEMPORARY punishment, vaguely similar to the concept of Purgatory, but God is not limited like christianity sees it to be.

Judaism is even such that it allows for people to believe in Reincarnation. though many simply believe that you simply sleep, until the time of the messiah, when God's kingdom will be realized on earth.

Judaism did not, does not, and has no use for a "spiritual" savior in a man, as that is of no use or interest to Jewish people. we already have a Savior in all ways, and that is God himself.

They were looking for a Messiah; the Messiah for which they are still looking.
1) No, they were looking for a conquering king who would return them to Jerusalem and rule there so therefore they could not see the signs from their own prophets that he was also supposed to be a suffering servant.
2) No, they believed that the ungodly went to Gehenna (Hell) and the godly went to Abraham's bosom.
3a) Jesus Christ was a gift because he eliminated the need for animal blood sacrifices.
3b) Jesus Christ is "Good News" because his shed blood is a once-for-all sin offering, not just a covering. His resurrection is a guarantee that death was conquered and therefore we humans can too conquer death because of him.
4) No wicked person can turn away from his sins through his own will but a wicked person can only turn away from his sins through the power of the Holy Spirit who is given by Jesus Christ when one accepts his death and resurrection as a gift.

Indeed the Jews were looking for a Saviour, but they were ignorant about the nature of this Saviour. They were only looking for a political redeemer to take them out of oppression. This was certainly alluded in the OT, but that's only part of the big picture. The other side is that this Saviour will come two times, first as a human to deal with sin by dying on the cross, then as divine King to right all wrongs and judge the world.

And you show your ignorance about Jewish beliefs again. The Jews believe that the dead goes to either Abraham's Bosom or Hades in the spiritual realm. There they await the resurrection of the dead.

Who told you Jesus was a gift? It is eternal life in Christ Jesus that is the gift.

And who told you that the good news was your perverted notion that humans were deceived by God for thousands of years? The good news presupposes a bad news. The bad news is that we are all dead in Adam. The good news is that we can be made alive in Christ, not by our trying to be justified by our good works, but solely by trusting in Christ's finished work of atonement on the cross for our salvation.

They were waiting and were misled into thinking that they would have another worldly king like Solomon or David. They could not see the signs in their own Prophets. They did in fact, follow another, Judas Maccabeus, and it did them no good. It only led to Masada.

Absolutely, in fact they are still waiting because they do not accept Jesus as the Messiah.
