Take 2 tbls. apple cider vinegar in a glass of water 2-3 times day. Cures depression. You will feel so good and happy with lots of energy. Life will seem much better. I use it because I have such anger issues. Besides it makes hair and nails grow too. We are just depressed because we need more vitamins and minerals. ACV has 93. Read the apple cider vinegar cures on the web. Think happy thoughts. Do happy reading. Do happy things. Help others. By helping others you are helping yourself and The Great Spirt will smile upon you.

First I hope that you are getting help for your depression. Please do, you don't have to suffer, or take pills. Find a good therapist if that is an option for you. If you want to consider medication, look into the different types and the pros and cons, if not excercise can help (also releases those happy endorphins). Stay away from alcohol- it is a depressant and will make you feel worse. As for food- chocolate releases pleasure endorphins in the brain that make you feel good. Often people who are depressed crave a lot of carbs as well- be careful as too many carbs can add weight which can be depressing itself. Take care of yourself.

Omega 3 fatty acid found in fish is supposed to be good for depression and mood swings.

I would steer clear of caffiene and alcohol (definitely!) and try eating a balanced diet. I have also heard that bananas are quite good for mood as well. Not sure if that's an old wives tale, but my dad swears by them.

Bananas-Recommended by my doc-found this on wed for you:
Like turkey, bananas contain tryptophan, a protein that converts to the neurotransmitter serotonin. Serotonin is instrumental in facilitating relaxation. Low levels of serotonin are believed to cause mood disorders including depression.

increase the intake of omega 3 fatty acids. they are the building blocks of the neurotransmitters and receivers in the brain. when there is a lack of n-3 fats in the diet the body will be forced to manufacture them out of sub-standard materials.

Careful not to eat too much chocolate though as it could be bad for your health. However, a bit of chocolate is proven to improve your mood a bit.

I'm sure some foods are causes of depression. Ask a nutritionist.

Chocolate usually helps me. Candy bars, Milky Way is my favorite, and Skittles.

Fruits and veggies in general make one feel better and healthier. Avoid the red meat.
