Because God loves and cares for His children. and Yes.Jesus said that the way we help the poor is to preach the gospel to them, because once they believe and become His children then He will care for them like any loving father cares for his children. Have you ever noticede how little poverty there is in countries where people believe in Jesus Christ?

It's the same as always, people who have a pretty good life or for who things have turned around for the better in their lives will tell you that prayer works and God cares, then there are those who really believe and do what's right and get totally screwed anyway regardless of prayers. It's a little harder for that group to believe all the pious bullshit.

Whoever said God doesnt listen when we are in need, is talking bullshit! God is everywhere and we dont necessarily need to pray to be heard by Him. He knows everything and therefore knows what you think, how you feel, what you did, etc. Prayers is just like a connection between reality and your spiritual belief--the bridge to God, in which we can directly talk to him. Religion is a touchy subject and im not interested in explaining. As a common belief that is said, "God knows everything and what he does is the betterment for everyone." By the way, God cant just give you everything, you have to help yourself so God can also help you. Its as simple as that!

The world around us is due to the fall of man. It's sad, but again I think people are stereotyping christians because I dont ignore them I have donated money to the red campaign and invisible children. They might not able to be saved here on this earth but they will be saved for eternity which is much better

it is a a sad thing to LET people have have Freedom to choose.
but it is better than forcing people to choose against their will like some dictators do.

God would have us all Freely choose to Serve Righteousness and be a citizen in the kingdom of God then to come against their will only to rebel and make war. But even still the Right of God which allows us to choose can still bring evil into the world because of Greed and lust for power and wealthy.

Do you think God is supposed to zap water to people in Africa or magically transport medicine to them?

God works through His people, the followers of Jesus Christ. If His people do not answer the call to help in these areas it will not get done. I do not see any athiests creating organizations to address these problems.

you have to have strong faith to be healed
so as soon as doubt comes into your mind
there goes the prayer being answered
& also if you are out of Gods circle he can't help you
& another thing is
who said the prayer is not answered
he might have plain just said NO!! to the prayer
he can see things way down the track they say & if he answered the prayers the way they are asked
he may see a future problem so he says no
Why I don't know

Because people are hopelessly subjective. They'll remember the one time that a prayer was kinda sorta answered, but ignore the million times it wasn't.

It's ironic that atheistic countries like Sweden and Japan have high standards of living, but ultra-religious countries like Nigeria, Ecuador, and the Phillipines are miserable spit-holes...

God isn't ignoring anybody. But God said multiple times he will not force anyone to believe. he will put conviction on you to try and help you realize you could die in your sins. But if you continously turn your back on Christ. he will stop putting that conviction on you. LOOK at the ppl that suffer. LOOK who they worship. God is a jealous GOD. he did say worship him. He is the way, the truth, and the light. but that is why there are missionaries. I do pray for these countries. I do believe if they truly turned to Jesus Christ. they would see a difference. God does love us. But he allows us to make our won choices and live and die with them. He wrote the Bible to try to help. but so many ppl refuse to belief in something higher than them.

God won't save the starving people in Africa for the same reason that God won't heal amputees.....
