This is a continuation of my question from earlier this week...i was asked what happened when the sheriff came to my house the morning after i called for help...he showed up after he got off duty and told me my car was on his property, he wanted to be there when i came to get it & he wanted to let me know before i saw my car me i wasn't going to like what i saw. he said it had a flat tire, the passenger side mirror was ripped off and dude had gotten a ticket in it. He finished up by telling me that dude is his wife's brother and she told him ...she'd anything for her brother so, he had to listen to his wife so, NOTHING was going to happen. He got into my face and in his authority "cop" voice said "nothing is going to happen to him... do you understand me? nothing is going to happen!" he wasthreatening me &i knew he meant what he said!
Car was messed up! flat tire, mirror gone, sugar in gas tank it wouldn't start, tail pipe crushed, huge dents & scratches. it had to be towed!

If he is a deputy (in your initial question, you said he is deputy then a sheriff-they are not the same-Sheriff is the boss Deputy Sheriff-or Sheriff's Deputy is the employee), then he answers to the Sheriff, and you need to file a complaint with his boss. If that gets you nowhere, or if he is the Sheriff, you need to go see your District attorney about pressing charges against the guy who stole your car and vandalized your home. Explain to him/her what happened. They may request that the State attorney's office come investigate your sheriff. My hubby (a deputy) contacted our states attorney's criminal investigative division about investigating some corrupt law enforcement in our community (County Constable) and was told that while his information was compelling and worth investigating, unless the DA's office requested them to investigate, they couldn't. Keep pushing forward. If you can't get help through the legal system, take it to newspaper/media and hire an attorney to help you.

It is very unfortunate that you had to deal with a cop who will protect his family before he protects the law. This is what gives the good ones a bad face in the public view as well. The good ones really are the majority

Why file a complaint? Just do what I do (did) when going up against "bad" cops. Get revenge.

Find out where they live, who their kids are and other family members and start your own little spree in retaliation. Then, the next time he gets on your face, start putting him down verbally. Call him a bunch of names and make sure you use the word 'boy' and maybe 'queer' a lot too. Then when he touches you, beat the crap out of him.

This kind of thing happened to me a few times and each time, i was acquitted and the cops were found guilty of assault for no grounds to arrest me (thus, no reason to touch me)

The problem with society today is ... they give law enforcement officers way too much respect when in truth, they work for us tax payers so they should be giving us our respect. Don't put up wth bad cops because there are too many bad ones out there.

Citizens need to grow a pair and stand up to police bullies.

Go to the Department in question and file a complaint. All Departements have procedures for this. If the car isn't worth much or if you live in a small town, you might want to consider just writing it off to being able to sleep at night.

To register a serious complaint against the Sheriff you need to go the the District Attorney's Office.

If you go the the department nothing will ever get done.
