There is much truth to that, which is evident on this site all the time. Although for this site I would change that to: the more you think you know, and the more you think you understand, the more you bring on your own suffering.

Is Ecclesiastes1:18 the Bible?
How about if we quote the statements of satan in the Bible? Will you also ask "Why is the Bible against knowledge and understanding?"

No. The Bible is not against correct and practical science. Solomon was wise but he fell. If he was the final, there is no need for Apostles.

That doesn't mean the Bible is against knowledge and understanding.

Nothing in Solomon's statement says anything about forbidding, or even discouraging, the pursuit of knowledge and understanding.

He was simply pointing out an undeniable fact, for the purpose of warning.

Our knowledge and wisdom are two different elements. How much knowledge we get digested and become part of our intellect, becomes part of our wisdom.
Getting knowledge without trying to digest it and keeping on increasing more and more, is not recommended. In this way knowledge acts like a poison, and it is very dangerous for our self.

The only knowledge absorbed by our intellect is the one that is fruit full.

So, even I'm Muslim, but I will not hesitate to say that above mentioned verse from Holy Bible, is saying the truth.

Ah yes
But was not Solomon the smartest at the time(with God's blessing of his vast knowledge)
People from all around and even a Queen listened to him

The Bible is not against it
The knowledge is there, but only if you choose to seek it yourself

you are using one verse that happened to be one persons feelings
That would be like you saying you are depressed and then people have that opinion of you just because that happened to be your mood at that time.
The Bible says to study and learn wisdom. It is not against knowledge and if you think about that verse it IS true, but it is not saying to not learn

The whole point of Ecclesiastes is that all the knowledge in the world will not profit you if you do not have faith.

The wisest in the world are tormented by morons.

Hurting and suffering are part of life. You can't hide from it. The more you live and love life the more you will be at risk.
