just playing around with you and that's it. What if you like him and he wasn't serious in 1st place? I'll be really hurt thinking he did like me and was interested and actually wasn't. I'm so naive ! How can be smart to avoid being hurt with flirting guys like that?

flirting is a way for both males and females to express their interest for each other, in a playful way. It could draw attention to one another, but, for males to do this, and not be serious, could mean he's a 'player' and does it to all females, because he likes the attention from all females when doing this kind of act.
He doesn't have to be serious, if he's just playing around, and wants to get a reaction from you. It just shows him that he still has it in him to get the opposite sex attracted to him!

flirting can mean a guy is serious but it also can mean he just want to know you a little further but with no commitments that's all
