I keep seeing things, and hearing noises. I smell gun powder a lot in my bathroom, but I don't keep guns in my house, much less fire them... It also gets randomly cold... not just New York weather cold, but freezing cold. I also get these terrible dreams with a woman screaming two to three nights a week, and I always smell gun powder after waking up. I'm not normally one to jump to these kinds of conclusions, but my cousin asked me about it before I'd even told him... is there anything I can do? Anything would be helpful...

Something horrible happened in that house long before you moved in. Find out the history of the house as much as you can. From your story, either someone got horribly murdered or suicide. A restless spirit probably seeking help rather than intent of harming you. However, if you think otherwise, seek the help of experienced medium or psychic that might sort things out for you to decide your next move.

Maybe you can have your house energetically cleaned. There are people who do that. Maybe something happened in your house that has left bad energy behind. ALmost like a picture but then made up of energy. Try and find a medium who can help you with this, but try to make sure the medium is an authentic one. This will not be easy since there are loads of fake mediums out there. Maybe there is a spiritual center where you live ( not spiritual in the way of christianity or muslem or whatever) and ask them if they know a good medium. Good luck with this.

Honestly, one place that I used to work at was haunted. A relative of a co-worker tried to tell the main spirit to "get over it" and "move on" and she was NOT happy. We had more activity that day than ever.
I would suggest that if this is something really bothering you, you seek professional help. It sounds like something bad happened in that house, and this woman is replaying it over and over. Sometimes that's said to be the emotional impression and not an active spirit, but I don't have personal experience with that.
