Since Patu wants to go into the area of Church reformation I thought I'd ask this question out of interest

It revolutionized Christianity. The main things was it allowed people to go to God directly instead of going to a mediator and it also allowed people to read the Bible and interpret it instead of having a corrupt pope tell them what it meant. (no im not bashing the current pope. Im referring to the ones of Martin Luthers time who were actually corrupt) and wikipedia always has good information

It removed the pope as the central head of the church and allowed for theological divisions. Was this a good thing? In my opinion mostly yes. It also made it a personal religion between Jesus and me.
