there are certain spices you can add to a marinade that,ll draw the liver taste out and make it taste like steak. i,ve seen the recipe on
t.v. years ago and never wrote it down because i couldn,t find any stationery. i like liver but steak taste better, plus you can get your kids
to eat something that,s good for them. liver is also a very cheap food.

Soak it in buttermilk for at least 8 hours - or overnight......

I don´t think this is the recipe you are looking for. Anyway, barbecued liver tastes different.

1 (1/2-pound / 227-g) piece beef liver
4 lemons
1 teaspoon (5 mL) caraway
Salt and pepper, to taste
1/2 teaspoon (2.5 mL) garlic powder
1 large tomato, quartered
1 large any desired colour sweet pepper, membranes removed and seeded, sliced
1 large onion, sliced

Press lemons into a shallow glass dish; mix caraway, salt pepper and garlic powder into lemon juice.
Preheat barbecue until coals become gray, almost white.
Meanwhile, add and leave beef liver to marinate into marinade.
Lay a sheet al foil over hot barbecue rack.
Remove beef liver from marinade.
Transfer beef liver onto al foil, over hot barbecue rack.
Brown beef liver on both sides.
Then arrange tomato quarters, and sweet pepper and onion slices over beef liver.
Seal all into al foil.
Barbecue until liver is well-done, for approximately 10 minutes.

Yikes, I hate liver, as a young child I was forced to eat liver at least once a week, I always knew that I was gonna get a beating for not eating it, but I just couldn't swallow the stuff. My father prepared it several ways and it always taste like hell, and he was a good cook, but he could never make liver taste like anything but LIVER!!! Please don't beat your kids if they can't stand the stuff.

I don't know about that, but I fry some cut up bacon in bitesize pieces, onions the same, then add the liver to cook in a bit of the drippings, it's tasty and I believe your kids will like it . I always make mashed potatoes as a side....My kids ate it all....

If you use milk it takes the heavy liver taste away.

Marinate in a good Italian Salad dressing and do not overlook.

we marinade steak with lemon extracts, soy sauce, and sugar tastes good.. try it.
