Think about it. Jesus wandered the countryside teaching peace and love. That you should love your enemy. That you should treat others as you would like to be treated. Live simply with little material possessions. Essentially, take care of your fellow man (ie. the Good Samaritan)

Today though, it seems like many Christians tend to be wealthy, affluent citizens that support Bush's War in Iraq, want to close the borders so the Mexicans can't make a better life for themselves, and tend to constantly cut down those that don't have the same beliefs as them.

However, I do know there are exceptions, it just seems like the majority of Christians are not kind hearted, but more centered on their own lives.

As an agnostic, I tend to agree with your assessment. There's a lot of arrogant, triumphalistic pseudo-Christians who give Christianity a bad name. Jackasses like Rush Limbaugh, Ann Coulter, and Pat Robertson really stick in my craw. If there ever is a Judgment Day, it'll be a hoot to watch Jesus open up a Can o' Smite-*** on these Pharisees.

However, I know a few Christians who really do try to follow in Jesus' footsteps. They oppose the war, volunteer at a soup line, try to be nice to others, and don't worship at the Throne of the Almighty Dollar. Then there's Mr. Rogers who's an ordained Presbyterian minister who never pushed his religion, but in his soft-spoken way, did more to live a Christ-like life than a million Ted Haggartys.

I think there is a silent majority. I think most Christians do follow his teachings as best we can. There are many Christians who are not wealthy. There are only a few left who still support the war in Iraq(28% of Americans) Plenty of non- christians are in favor of closing the borders. In general Christians don't all agree on those political issues. I'm sorry if you think it's the majority who are failing to follow Jesus. I know I try to.

I think the silent majority isn't heard because we are not the ones doing all the complaining. We are just living our lives for God.

You can find only a handful. All others preach and profess to love everyone but in practice nil.To days world including the so called ordained ones and consecrated ones do not practice christian principles.IBN news channel brought out the story of several so called pastors selling fake baptism certificates for large sum of money. Many others run schools and colleges meant for the rich. And some of these schools do not even pay a decent salary after extracting work for years!
Remember most of the wars were fought on religious grounds. And today too it is so.Look at the amount of money spent on wars and what destruction and hatred!Where is christianity heading for?
Huge money is spent on conversion and propagation of faith.First let them put into practice what they preach.

I try to although I fail. But your reasoning is warped ;if Bush didn't defend those who are weak you would condemn him too.Is it fair for Mexicans to jump the queue? As for your claims about 'cutting down people ';if it were true the Church would accrue military might.
