No, it means your body body is hot and needs to sweat to cool down. The only weight you're losing is a few ounces of water weight!

That said, if you're sweating because you are exercising hard, then you are increasing your metabolism for a time. If you eat less calories than you burn, yes, you are losing weight!

not necessarily, however, water weight is a factor in weight loss. Loss of water is what some fad diets do for you and it's not the greatest thing. But if you are working out and getting in some good cardio and you work up a healthy sweat, rock on. I guess to put it simply, "you can't lose weight without sweating"

No, it means that your body is overheating and trying to cool down.

Exercise will help you loose weight. Sweat has nothing to do with it. You can sweat when you're sitting on a hot beach and not be exercising at all. You can also be running on a cold day and not sweat. It's the exercise that causes you to loose weight, not the sweating. Sweating is the bodys way of regulating body temperature, that's why we sometimes sweat when we're exercising.. our bodies get hot.

You sweat because your body has heated itself up and the sweat's purpose is to cool you down. Your body heats up when your heart rate goes up, if you are exercising enough to get your heart rate up, then you are burning calories. Whether or not you are burning enough calories to lose weight depends on the amount of calories you have consumed that day. If you ate say, 1000 calories and you have to have 800 or less to lose weight, then you have to burn over 200 calories before you start losing that weight.

it means your respiring at an increased rate that makes you soo hot that you need too sweat too cool you down. So as a result more energy stores in the body is used up which in long term may help to loose weight as the fat stores begin to being used

Well technically you sweat whenever it's a hot day or your exercising heaps. So if you're sweating whilst doing exercise...well, sweating really has nothing to do with losing weight.
If you do want to lose extra poundage, go for walks and eat healthy. :)

Yes, you are losing water. But it's not a particularly healthy way of losing weight. Therefore you should try and replace it immediately by drinking plenty of water. It's not a bad thing as long as you do that - you are flushing out impurities.

No, it means you are losing liquids. Although you may weigh slightly less you haven't lost fat and these liquids are important and should be replaced. The more you sweat the more water you need to drink.

It doesn't mean that you're losing weight, it just means that you're losing water weight, which does add to losing weight.
So...yes, but breaking one sweat doesn't equal five pounds.
