What should I do and/or how do I go about looking for this person. She's bi, so having the threesome is not the problem it's the matter of finding a person. I would prefer it be a friend but the friends that would do it are iffy on it.

Being a veteran of swinging, I'll tell you that it's not you that has to find the woman. It's both of you together. you can no more chose who your girlfriend will be attracted to anymore than she can for you. Everytime I've thought I've had my wife's "type" down, she completely surprises me because for many sexual attraction goes deeper than just skin deep. My wife has been attracted to some men and women I never would have thought of, and others I thought for sure she would do nothing for her.
So let your girlfriend take the lead and you just give a thumbs-up or thumbs-down to her choices.

Maybe your gf could suggest someone? Being a guy you're probably more likely to agree to whoever she chooses than her liking who you choose. It might be better if it wasn't a close friend in case that awkwardness thing happens. Maybe you could find someone out at a pub or club. That way you can do it without ever having to see them again if you don't want to. Then you could stand there and choose someone together that you're both attracted to, which might be better for your relationship long term rather than it being someone that one of you decided on...
