Hmm... interesting proposition.
While it does kind of make sense, I doubt many Christians will actually thank Judas for this reason.
But interesting point.... I'd like to see a debate about the issue :)

So was Jesus betrayed by Peter, why then honour Peter? Judas is the most "despicable" of the lot for his act of betrayal - but someone has to do it and he was instrumental to the plot, in a way he was an instrument of God. The story of Jesus' crucification will have less oomph factor if Jesus simply surrendered to the guards. The Roman soldiers that whipped Jesus was acting out an order.

Why should we? When Jesus Himself already declared in Luke 22:22 that woe would befall the man who betrayed Him? If Jesus had expressed thanks in that thought, or thanked Judas at the Garden when Judas came with the guards, then I can still consider your question as having some validity. Since none of these things happened, your question is pure nonsense and designed to antagonise the Christians.

No. Judas did nothing honorable. Regardless of how in the long term it was to our benefit and salvation, he was still a betrayer and wicked at heart. No such person should receive praise of any kind. That would be like blessing the Roman soldiers who whipped Jesus. It is entirely wrong

The simple answer is NO. To betray is cowardly especially betraying a trusted companion. Christians should not thank him not because it was God's plan for Jesus to die for us but because of the betrayal. Have you ever been betrayed by someone you trust and hold in high esteem? If so, then you know the how thankless Xtians should be. Do not mix divine prophesy with human greed!

properly i think of the two situations are real he became a traitor and he became doing God's will. Christ instructed him to flow and do what could be finished. Now i do no longer think it rather is schizophrenic. i've got faith God can see the top or effect of issues earlier the activities play out. God can see the consequence earlier the deed happens. this could be a scriptural thought. this could be a perplexing information, even nonetheless if God is the beginning up and end and is each the place in area and time on a similar time i assume this might make experience. i do no longer think being a solid Christian means demeaning different faiths. Having faith and searching for fact is the optimal style of being human. i've got faith my direction is ideal or i would not be on it. I admire your spectacular to be on your direction to grasp-how as properly. Sharing fact and know-how could be each human beings objective. i'm sorry for the attitudes of the countless Christians responding on your questions. earlier they factor out the perceived mote on your eye they could first get rid of the log from their own to paraphrase Christ.

So many people did things so that we know of the Faith and Christ today, it would be impossible to thnak them all. When they die God rewards them for what they have done for the Christian belief. Not alot of people would buy on to thanking Judas and others. Just God and Jesus.

My pastor teaches that we do not even know whether or not Judas was saved. He obviously could not handle his guilt, as he killed himself. No, I will not thank Judas any more than I will thank the Roman soldier who put a crown of thorns on my God's head.

well the whole thing was a part of God's plan, so even if that didn't happen Jesus would still be crucified some way or another

The discovery of the Gospel of Judas indicates that he was a loyal disciple of Jesus; he did not betray him. ;)~
