Would you share what do you logically think is going to happen when you die? This question probably is not for Buddhists because I'm aware they believe in reincarnation. Would it be like Einstein theory about energy can never be disappeared, it just turns into another form of energy? What kind of energy would it be? The energy I'm refering to is what people call soul or mind or whatever. You can also give me funny answer but chance is, I won't get it.

I don't need scientific explanation, just curious about what you think about death.

When I die, that is it. Just like Rover I'll be dead all over.

I'm another one of the atheists who's actually more of an agnostic. What I'd like to 'see' happen is very different than what I can accept as being logical. Most of the time, I think that when we die our 'energy' just blends in with the rest of the universe. There's nothing emotional about it, we don't get to see our friends and family again, etc.. To take it one step further, I liken it to Heaven sometimes because I think of how the energy from everyone who ever lived is then mixed together. In that sense, it would be like being with your loved ones again but not in a conscious way or in a way that has anything to do with a God. It's a very unromantic and boring idea and I sometimes wish that I could say that I felt differently but I can't 'promise' that anything more than that could happen. I do at least believe that we have some sort of 'energy' within us, along the lines of a soul but as for it having any emotion or being at all human is not really something I believe in.

I know I could be completely wrong about all this and I'm fine with that. I even hope that it is something more interesting than what I described. I'll be honest and admit that I occasionally believe weird stories involving 'spirits', etc. and I'm aware that that totally contradicts some of my ideas on what happens after death. So basically, I have no clue what happens after we die and I think we just have to wait and see. I don't want to spend too much of my life worrying about it.

I am not an Athiest but I sometimes I doubt His existence. I think we just change dimensions. There are seven dimensions. First Dimension are insects. Second are animals. Third are Humans. Fourth are Soul. Fifth are Devils. Sixth are Angels and the last one is God. We can't go past Fourth. Well that was a fictional theory I read somewhere. Thought I should share. I personally am thrilled by the idea of death. I am not scared of it but it doesn't mean I am suicidal. When it comes, I'll take it. My thrill feeling is because I'll finally get to know what's on the otherside, if there is any. I can be very well disappointed or can get an amazing surprise.

When you die, the brain stops functioning and the body shuts down. It is much like being under a major general anaesthetic - with no dream-time. This lasts FOREVER. You do not pull out of it. Much like switching off the light? The electrical energy just stops flowing.
As there is no such thing as a soul (all that twaddle is a lie to help religious folks understand how you get from dead to paradise - invisibly - how convenient)
There is no after-life of ANY kind.
Reality is grim, I know, but there you have it.
Therefore, don't waste time with fantasy-land. Live THIS one and only life as if you care. Use it to the advantage of yourself and your family and, if you can, for your fellow human beings, whoever and wherever they are.

I'm a Buddhist and I dont believe in reincarnation. And I'm also technically an atheist since I dont believe in any god or gods.

Honestly I think that when you die, your brain and heart stop working, you lose consciousness and thats the end of it. Just like when an ant or fly dies. It dies, and theres nothing more to say.

I know its not very romantic or whatever, but its what seems most logical to me.

I belive that all matter and energy is the stuff of life. That is, everything in the universe is "alive". So the death of the human body, is just when this combination of elements stop acting in this way.

So far, we've all been parts of Stars, and parts of at least one super nova. I look forward to "seeing" what comes next. It'll be some trip!

If I were and Athiest, I would believe the scientific explanation- all of what we experience is the result of complex chemical reactions that give us consciousness. When we die, the energy changes like any other. Heat is lost, tissues are broken down and used by other organisms or processes. YOu become part of the nutrient cycle. WEEEE!!!

There is no special energy of any sort associated with life, so when you die, you're dead -- just like the opossum beside the road that got hit by a truck. The attribute of life is the organization of the body, and with death it is destroyed. Hence, no sort of reincarnation or resurrection is possible.

Energy cannot be destroyed, only converted...so I suppose Einstein is correct, I will serve as the energy force for decomposers. To be truthful, I don't know what to believe.

Honestly, dead is dead. One ceases to be.

The idea of the soul, or energy as you refer to it, is a man made concept. Nothing about it stands up to scientific scrutiny. Applying the concept of the soul to Einstein's theories concerning energy is false, given this information, since he was referring to energy that can be verified and tested.

When I die I believe my body will rot 6 feet under ground. The end. I don't believe in Heaven and Hell or reincarnation or anything like that.
