I have the same problem. Here are some things that have helped me.

1. Try not to eat a lot before you go to bed, it's really hard for me to fall asleep on a full stomach.

2. Take a nice hot shower, it's a really good de-stresser.

3. Drink some chamomile tea

4. Read a book, if in bed it always makes me sleepy.

5. If I've done all the above things and I still can't go to sleep, then I lay on my back with my eyes closed and try to think of something that is calming to me, I usually think of water,I imagine I'm floating on waves because water is very peaceful and soothing to me and so that usually puts me to sleep, but you may have something different that makes you feel calm and peaceful so you should think of whatever works for you .

OK try this. Go lay in your bed and close your eyes. take 3 slow deep breaths and as you do relax your body.Remember not to move that part of your body once you have tightened it. then starting at your toes squeeze your muscles really tight like curl your toes and hold them tight for a three count then slowly let them relax. then do your calf muscles(careful not to get a charlie horse) then do your thighs, your buttocks, your stomach, your pecks, your arms your hands, then your neck, then your face scrunch it down and frown and hold each of these for 3 seconds by the time you get to your face you should be totally relaxed and then take 3 more deep cleansing breaths and close your eyes and rest until you sleep. try to concentrate on the sound of your breathing. It is a form of meditation

eat less sugars and stop drinking Cola. It was proven that it causes hyperactivity as it contains equal amount of energy as 40 cubes of sugar! It is also a good idea not to drink coffee. Warm milk+honey before sleep help in production of melatonine, hormone which is responsible for good sleep. Try some tea for relaxation and aromatherapy. Yoga could help you as well. And of course, make sure you get enough excercise during the day! It makes you tired and during excercising, your body produces endorfines-hormones of happiness that will reduce your stress and they are necessary for production of melatonine.
Good luck!

What I usually do is to have a cool bath before sleeping, and then you just feel like you wanna curl up in that nice warm bed. I drink some water before sleeping too. And I say a prayer to ask God to help me sleep. =)
Hope this helps.

Exercise more and don't eat anything an hour before you went to bed, especially if it's sugary. If it stays a problem, they have plenty of sleeping pills you could look into that work wonderfully.
