For rooms, try www.asiarooms.com
for flights, I would try maybe sidestep.com or Kayak.com and compare to your local travel agents rates. Also go directly to the airlines website.
Also, a travel agent can sometimes get you a package, hotel and flight.
Study, www.asiarooms.com maps to see where you might want to stay. Staying near or along Sukhumvit would be safe for a woman.
