I'm not trying to get a definitive diagnosis from this website or anything, just trying to see if anyone else has had this problem or something similar.

I'm the type of person who doesn't go to the doctor unless it's absolutely necessary, but since this has been going on for so long I think I should at least address the issue.

I have had stomach aches almost every day at or near the same time for about 8 months or so. They either occur in the morning between 8 and 9 AM or midday around 3, and they last from anywhere from ten minutes to an hour. Sometimes I get them late at night as well. They never lead to nausea, but sometimes they come darn close. I don't eat junk food and I eat at every meal, and there is no chance of me being pregnant because I'm a virgin.

There is also been blood in my stool for about a month now, but I think this has more to do with my recent diagnosis of type I diabetes than my stomach ache. However, is it possible that my stomach ache is linked to diabetes?

I've had bad stomach aches for the past thirty years. It took Doctors awhile to figure it out but I have irritable bowel syndrome. You might have this, I don't know. First off, have you
noticed that the pain is worse when you eat? Or is it relieved when you eat? If it's worse on an empty stomach, it could be that you're secreting too much stomach acid. It can burn, cause
nausea and a tummy ache. Or you could have an ulcer. That is relieved by food initially, but you'll get a tummy ache about an hour and a half later, especially if you eat spicy foods. The most troublesome thing you said was that you have blood in your stool. I don't think it's tied to the diabetes. Anytime someone has blood in the stool, it needs to be checked out by a Doctor. You could have anything from a bleeding ulcer, to colitis, to cancer or
hemorroids. Is the blood bright red or darker? If it's bright, it usually means you are bleeding from the rectum instead of higher up. That could indicate the hemorroids, polyps or perhaps cancer. If it's darker, you could have cancer higher up, colitis, diverticulitis or a perforation in the bowel. So, do yourself a favor
and get it checked out by a Doctor! Good luck.

This is totally normal honey. It's called 'pre-labor' and it can certainly last for weeks off and on. Some women don't feel them as much, some not at all, but rest assured that every womans pregnant body goes through it. It is a good thing!!! It means your body is preparing itself for the real labor ahead! Also, women who have strong prelabor usually have a shorter and less painful 'real' labor because their body has already done some of the work! WOOHOO! Your body is always working, even if you don't feel it. You are beginning to dilate, your baby is moving into position, and your muscles are toning up. It's all good. I know it can be a pain in the butt, but instead of thinking of it as an inconvenience, change your perspective to think of it as a wonderful stretching process. Enjoy it when it comes and encourage your baby to work with your body. Talk to your baby, and your body and help it along! You are almost 40 weeks, so the real thing may be coming soon.... so relax as much as possible. The more uptight and nervous or frustrated you are, the more you are working AGAINST your labor progress. Relax your mind and body, try some deep breathing exercises, take a warm bath, drink some tea, read a book, go for nice (not panic) walks. Your body will love you for it! Don't be anxious to find out if you've dilated either, because dilation has been proven to have nothing to do with 'when' labor will begin! Some women walk around for weeks dilated to 3-4cm's and some don't dilate at all until right before labor starts! Checking of the cervix only increases your risk of getting an infection, and offers no useful information. So I wouldn't get checked anymore (but that's up to you). You could possibly go this week, or it could be 2 weeks away, no one can really tell you that, so just enjoy the last little while you are pregnant and prepare to welcome you little one into ther world! Congratulations!

As a kid I used to get frequent stomachaches because I didn't want to go to school. I still get them when I'm nervous. Is something in your life causing you daily anxiety? That's the only possible unalarming cause I can think of.

Otherwise, I think you should let a doctor know about the blood and the stomachaches. I don't know anything about diabetes but since you do have the condition, questionable body function is more likely to have a serious cause. Take care of yourself :)
