Yes. People fart in their sleep, because they keep it in all day they have to let it out somehow. Look at my Grandma (yes she is still alive) but she works all day and since she holds it in so long you can't sleep in the same room.

I actually farted so badly in my sleep once that it woke both my wife and I up it smelled so bad.

I've heard I do. My roommate woke up early and said he could hear me farting through a semi-closed door.
