I believe the oldest known sports were played in Greece or Rome,possibly discus throwing or feeding people to Tigers??

A wide range of sports were already in operation at the time of the ancient Greeks. Wrestling, running, boxing, javelin and discus throwing, and chariot racing were prevalent.
