Could I respectfully suggest that you get a book called the purpose driven life by Rick Warren, it starts off in the first chapter by asking "What on earth am I here for?"
There are readings and studies set over 40 days which will answers all the questions you have on this subject.

This is a question that people have been asking for generations and it seems that some of them appear to have discovered their own individual purpose in life.
Reading the autobiographies of people who have made important contributions to society can give a clue as to whether the world is a better place because of the part they have played.
Your observation about us all having a gift is a feeling that many people have. It is also something that has been exploited by leaders of many different religions.
Look at your 'talents' (which everyone is given) and use them fully and wisely and you will discover your own personal reason for being on this earth.
Use what you have, skills? wisdom? wealth? knowledge? Try to leave this world a slightly better place than when you arrived here.

As you mentioned everyone has a gift & a purpose in life, everyone receives these things thru Christ our Lord. Think of what you are gifted at and then you will find your purpose. Your gift starts when you are old enough to notice that you are doing something repeatedly, such as helping others, reading to children and/or elderly people, talking to your friends about problems, there are so many gifts out there and you may have a combination of gifts--just follow your heart---and you will see your purpose in life.

I ask myself the same question many times, and i have come to believe that i am here for the purpose of living this life as good and as honest as i can, because life is knowledge, and the more i learn the more i can pass on. i also believe that this life on earth is the hell that people talk about, and we must live it to pass on to greater things. just by living this life in the best and honest way i can is my purpose in life. but you must decide for yourself, as we were all given free will, so its up to you to choose the life you live.

Just because you believe something does not make it true. The main Purpose of life seems to be to make more of you and successfully pass your genes to future generations. So Enjoy life.

Pleeease, ignore the God squad, why do they have to try and push their idiotic beliefs on everyone and everything.
What should I have for breakfast? "Well, just ask the mighty Lord and he will probably say that Jesus died for a bowl of cornflakes and a f'ing cup of coffee..."
I think the first answerer was probably right, you will not know your purpose until you find it, until then, just do anything and everything that interests you - make time - if something sticks then stick at it.
Good luck.

That is for you to find out. No one can answer what you'll find purpose in life for because everyones is different. Not a single religion can give you the answer either, though they say they can.
YOU need to decide what you live for. Whats important. No one, and nothing, can do it for you.

Numerology and Astrology can help very often clarify basic points and turns in your life.
However, the deeper meaning of life is LOVE and every religion exposes that.
Relationships are necessary for every mission in this world. In regular relationships we give and take. Thus, learning from one another. They also help us grow and mature into better individuals.
When you have LOVE, you have all you've ever really needed.

well, i believe that people never know their purpose until it is fulfilled. also, in an existentialist nature, you must make your own purpose and fulfill it.
