I'm 18 and I want to vote, but I don't know how to register. Can you do it online? Is there a fee? Can you only do it close to election time? Please help!

In most states, you can register to vote up to 30 days before any election. The federal government made it possible to register when you change your driver license, as well as placing voter registration forms in public places like libraries. As for registering online, that varies by each state.

Since voting is managed by the counties, you could call your County Clerk's office, or just call city hall and ask where you can pick up a registration form. They might even mail one to you to fill out & return.

It depends on which state you're in. Usually you can register at your county court house. In some states, you can register at DMV offices.

You can't do it online because they need your signature. Some states allow you to register by mail.

By law, they cannot charge a fee to register or vote.

All states have a cutoff point where you can't register too close to an election. The cutoff periods range from 30 to 90 days.

Very doubtful you can do it online. Too easy for false registrations. You can, however, request Voter Registration Mail Application Forms online.

I live in Pennsylvania where you can register to vote when applying for or renewing your Driver’s License. I believe most state DMVs would offer the same.

Registration to vote is done at the Commission on Elections of the town or city where you reside. It is not usually online especially in most countries.

I am not sure if you can register online, but I registered at the dmv and it was really easy. They give you a form of like 5 or 6 questions and you fill it out, give it back, and you're done! Super quick, super easy.
