My fiancée certainly does, and I do to a lesser degree, so rest assured you're not alone.

It's absolutely facinating to try to understand a mind so tragically ill-wired.

That is why I have the Encyclopedia of Crime. It has serial killers from the 1300's or earlier. I find them fascinating too. How can they be so cruel to another human being? Do you read True Crime Library on the web? I do all the time.

Well, they are very interesting people to say the least. It's kinda like the car crash idea---you just can't help from looking. As long as you know that you would never kill anybody, I guess it's not such a big deal. Is this the case? And, are you sickened by them? Yeah, they can be interesting, but do you get sickened by what they do? If not, something must be wrong...

You're definitely not alone. It's human nature to be fascinated with death. Why do you think Halloween is such a popular holiday? Horror movies and slash flicks? TV Crime dramas?

I don't know where you are in your life...but perhaps you could turn this into a career as an investigator or criminal psychologist. I think that would be insanely interesting.

i am also fascinated by serial killers and crime in general, watching documentaries and reading books about these types of people. for me i think i want to try and understand how people can behave in this way and i am constantly intrigued and shocked by the actions of these people and their total disregard for human life, i dont agree they are generally smart although they have a certian intelligence related to the crimes they carry out and the avoidance of detection

i have a slight heightened interest in them

it used to be higher which caused me a bit of concern so i toned down the dose for a while and occupied myself with other things,
my friend told me that if it became an obsession other aspects of my life would become ruined from neglect, and perhaps i liked them so much because i saw a bit of myself in them, and because i enjoyed the thrill,
theres nothing wrong with an interest, or fascination but just ask yourself why you like them, besides the fact that they are such an interesting phenomenon,
after all, they are pschyopaths, and like the commentor above said, not so fun if youre the victim or the victim's family

They are interesting because they are so unlike the majority of us, yet fit right in. Based on the numbers of books and TV episodes and movies made about these guys--we're not alone.

if you meant "anybody" feel this way, I'd have to say yeah. Otherwise, you wouldn't have shows about 'em. I don't think they're particularly smart most of the time, but that might just be me.

Some people make their living studying them too.

If they are so smart, why do they end up getting caught and going to prison for the rest of their lives or put to death? That doesn't sound so smart to me. I do like to watch forensic science programs when they are trying to put together a crime scene.
