I am trying to plan a bachlorette party in Las Vegas. I have been pricing tickets but I wanted to know how far in advance is recommended to buy plane tickets. FYI I am planning the trip for Aug 9-12

I tend to get tickets a month or 2 in advance. That way I can check on the prices as the do change frequently, plus I can avoid the holidays. Prices tend to be more expensive during the holidays, even if your not flying during that holiday. Check between Tuesday and Thursday as I find those the better days to buy tickets. Also, buying directly from the airlines itself can be cheaper. You dont have all those hidden fees.

Well it is up to you. Many times I have bought my ticket just before boarding the flight. However, to be on the safe side and sometimes for the best fares you should book as far in advance as possible.
Although sometimes you get a much better price just right before you board the flight.

Most airlines need a two week notice, but a few need a three week notice for the best fares.
