Where can I find a translation of Borges's short story "El brujo postergado" in English?

Wow, I haven't thought of that story for years! I love Borges, so thanks for the question....it brought a smile to my face. :)

I did a little research, and it seems that the translation of "El brujo postergado" was done by a man called di Giovanni, and there appears to be some debate as to how good his translation is.

The only anthology in English that I could find containing "The Wizard Postponed" is called "Black Water: The Anthology of Fantastic Literature," edited by Alberto Manguel. There are two Amazon sellers offering used editions, which can be found at the link below:

What I'd recommend, however, is that you look for the book at a library first to see if you actually want to purchase it!

I'm not sure why you want a translation, as you obviously understand the original. Anyhow, I have most of Borges on my shelves, just not that one. If you can get me a copy of the original, I'll gladly help you translate it, just for the fun of it -- and I can deal with most Argentine after long experience with Mafalda, zanahoria tu.

talvez no ayude mucho pero sé cuál es la historia que estás buscando, la versión inglesa es titulada "The Wizard Postponed"... buscaré la historia (espero encontrarla). Sin embargo quizá puedas comprarla en alguna librería o página de internet que venda libros
