I'm trying to make some dietary changes, but I'm on a budget. What kind of healthier foods are out there that help with energy & brain power without breaking the bank? This is one reason why I tend to eat what I do... junkfood is almost always cheaper. I am working out regularly, which helps, but I'm still trying to avoid those mid-afternoon slumps, & I'd like to tone up faster.

Protein and healthy carbs gives you a lot of energy!
Nuts are a great source of protein and fat (the healthy fats) and is a great snack.
Protein such as chicken breast, fish (tuna and salmon are great), eggs and so on are the best protein foods. Good carbs are wheat breads, oatmeal, potatoes, and brown rice.
Of course, don't forget your fruits and veggies! :)

Good luck!

Is your dogs elderly? I certainly have by no skill heard of a Jack Russell with low skill. I had one for 17 years and he did not extremely start to settle down till he replace into 15. there may well be an underlying explanation for his lethargy so it may well be a great theory to get him checked over by skill of your Vet. there are incredibly some superb organic meals on the industry that could help yet you do not prefer to p.c.. too lots protein in as this would bring about kidney issues. Get him a great high quality wholemeal biscuit mixer. this would advance his skill levels. products of apple and carrot for treats are good for him. Is he according to danger a splash obese? - this would certainly sluggish him down. if it is the case attempt lowering his each and on a daily basis intake of nutrition by skill of one 0.33 each and on a daily basis or placed him on a 'easy' weight loss plan. verify with your Vet if he's the splendid weight for his age and pass from there.

Another way to eat whole food without it to be overexpensive is to buy the ingredients and make it yourself. This way it's cheaper and much better than junkfood.
