Is it okay if I skip a meal a day? I have lost 8 pounds from doing this. I weigh 208 and I am 10 yrs old. I hate being obese. I just want to look good. At night I dream about bleeding and knives. I am not sure what is wrong. Why is my body thinking this way?
(I usually skip breakfast. Sometimes lunch. Sometimes both.) Is a 10 yr old supposed to be thinking this way? I started my period when I was 9 yrs old and am almost 11. Last week I had my period for 11 days. Is this all normal? If not, What could be wrong? PLEASE HELP???

Don't skip meals especially through the day when your most active have a small dinner in the evenings. You are starving yourself all day and your making it up by eating more at night when your less active. Have a talk with your sports teacher at school about diet and a exercise program she should be able to put you on the right path also to the school nurse or a chancellor or teacher at school if you feel you can't talk to your mom about your periods. Don't ever be afraid to ask or talk to your teachers at school if you ever have a problem. People dream about a lot of weird things we wouldn't have a lot of thing's we use everyday if someone didn't dream about it. You do this and the bad dreams will go away. There is nothing wrong with you at all it's all part of growing up and becoming a young adult.

Skipping meals is pretty bad for you. You should eat a balanced healthy diet without junk food and exercize to become more healthy. you're only ten years old chances are that if as you grow and blossom into a woman the weight will come off anyway.
When you're period first starts it can be crazy, it takes a long time to settle down into a proper cycle. I wouldn't worry about it too much.
As for your dreams have you considered talking to someone about them. They could be stemming from your recent anxiety about your period. Look up what the dreams might mean, and if they continue to freak you out, get help, there's no shame in getting help.
Good luck.

Start walking and eating lots of things that are fresh. Celery big nice salads fruit, maybe yogurt smoothies. Swim and move around. An 11 day period is not so very unusual in the first years of having them. They will regulate themselves at some point if you get in touch with yourself. Talk to your mom or a trusted woman in your life. Someone who gives you good answers and knows about health. Try swimming. Stretching. Get an exercise ball and learn how to use it. Take a yoga class. Ask for some help if you need it. If your parents are not very available to you find a counselor at school or a nurse. There are a lot of people to help you make good choices for yourself. You are so young, you can help yourself. Also it might be good to get a good checkup just to investigate your health at this point and get a lot of information that you can use.

You should skip a meal a day if you way that much. I think if you weigh that much then your meals are too big anyway so instead of skipping just cut all of them in half. Your basically a teenager but with out the title, eleventeen, if you already have your period. Teenage years are always hard so dont go cuttingg your rist you will have good and bad times. Also hopefully for a pre warning just cause you have your period doesnt mean you are ready for sex. DONT WORRY BE HAPPY NOW
