I'm doing a run on Monday and I need some ideas on how to get quick and simple energy boosters instantly and will last for a while.

Any suggestions?

Thanks:)

Sugar will not help you because, although it will boost your energy quickly, your energy will drop lower than it was before you had sugar once the sugar high is over. Protein and carbs are the best for energy. Protein such as eggs, cottage cheese, tuna, chicken breast, and peanut butter. For a quick snack, eat nuts! (They are a great source of protein and fat)
Good carbs are wheat breads, oatmeal, potatoes, and brown rice. Of course those aren't all of the good protein and carb foods but its a good start!

Good luck! :)

Breezi's answer is very good.
On days when I know I'll need that extra energy, I drink a glass or two of green tea and eat protein with good carbs~
