how many calories can i take in and still lose weight? I'm 17 5'7 3/4 and weigh about 135 now. I was 165 and lost weight over the span of a few months. I started losing back in august and my goal weight is 130 so I'm so close but I can't seem to lose the last 5 pounds. I splurge about 1 to 2 times a week and it doesn't affect me much but I think it may stop me from losing the last 5 pounds. suggestions anyone?

Maybe you can't loose it because you don't need to. I would (not literally) die to weight only 135. I think 135 is a good, healthy weight. But if you really want to loose that last 5 pounds I'd say eat smaller portions, eat or snack atleast every 4 hours exept before bed, and eat more veggies, brown rice, and celery(I know it's a veggie...) That should help.

Oh the last 5-10 are the hardest! I would suggest for this last push, just kick things up a notch. Get rid of your splurges for the next couple weeks (the food's not going anywhere! You can have it when you've reached your goal) and add an extra 10-15 minutes to your workouts. Good luck and congrats on yoru weight loss!!

Nourish your body thin, instead of starving your body fat. Good carbs like celery and carrots will never make you fat. Bad carbs like cake will, but you don't need to know the whole science of glycemic load. You need to re-learn how to eat so you can become thin and healthy. Salt has no calories but makes you fat and burning more calories does not help this fatness.

honey, you're fine. i'd die to be that, because i'm too skinny (16, 5 ft 5 in., and 103 lbs). but if you REALLY wanna lose those last pounds, exercise a little more, and eat small and healthy portions. or, ask your doctor for food suggestions or look in a healthy cookbook (if you like to prepare homemade meals). good luck!
