I know it can make you tired and confused, but i called 911 to get her to the hospital and get hydrated. she wouldnt eat/drink.92 years old (90 lbs)and taking 15 mg of morphine Q 12 h. I only work with her once a week so when I saw her, she wasnt her self. on morphine for pain the result from an xray were not in yet and would not be in for 4 days.did i do the right thing? they released her after 5 hours.

I have medical background! I just feel she could have stayed home but she wouldnt eat/drink much and the other nurses didnt see this.she is on 24 hour care at home, private duty.

If she is 92 years old they may not be able to do anything for her but keep her drugged up. The best thing to do is get her to choice to see a doctor, but I think you did the right thing. She could have taken too much and did not realize it (you could have prevent an overdose) or someone could have been drugging her (a family member tired of dealing with them).

you should not be a doctor is you're getting advice on yahoo about your patients...it's called medical school.
