If you mean out of range being high, then your thyroid is underactive. If under range, hyperactive. You posted in the pregnancy section, so I assume you are pregnant. I just had a friend who is hypothyroid who delivered a healthy baby girl. She had to have her TSH done every 6 weeks in the morning and her dosage of thyroid med adjusted. Previously she was pregnant and lost a baby because her TSH wasn't being monitored. So if you are hypothyroid and pregnant, just make sure you have your thyroid levels checked every 6-8 weeks and you should be fine.

It's TSH.

And that depends on whether it was lower than usual or higher than usual.

If it's lower, you could have hypothryoidism. If it's higher, you could have hyperthyroidism.

Your doctor should have measured your T3 and T4. This would be a much better indicator.

And the fact that your doctor seems to have left you in the dark is a bit troubling.
