If you are worried about ruining your friendship, then you can ask her casually who she likes. Don't be dissapointed if she doesn't like you. She may just think of you as a friend.

What does it matter how her parents know you? It matters if she likes you or not. To find out, why not just ask her? Or tell her you're interested in her, and see if she'd like to try a date sometime to get to know each other better.
