I have this stuffed animal hangin' out in my closet that my ex gave me about two years ago. I'm completely over him, in fact, i've got someone else i like. But i don't know exactly what to do with this stuffed animal because it's MashiMaro [which is utterly adorable!] and it is truly expensive -___- so i don't like wasting things... and it's not like i can give it away to someone else since it's kind of dirty now. So do I keep it and get to hug it because i think it's adorable? or is it forbidden. o.O because every now and then i feel guilty thinking it looks cute. So what do you propose i do?

Do you get rid of gifts simply because that relationship doesn't exist (in its current form) anymore?
Relationships are fluid, and people will move in and out of your life and vary in importance and the type of relationship throughout your life.
Old gifts can be reminders of what once was. You can reminisce over them, and while they might not bring up good feelings at one point in time, in the future when enough time has passed, it might feel good to remember the old times.
I don't think gifts are given with the intent that the person gets rid of them when/if the relationship changes.
And besides, you still enjoy your stuffed animal. You don't HAVE to think about your ex every time you hug it.

I say get rid of it ! it reminds you of the person that gave it to you and what if the person you like had something of their ex hanging from a door ? you didnt buy it so dont worry about it being expensive ! lol

i would keep it if it was something that you like and it was expensive then by all mean keep, and when you have a daughter
you can give it to her.
