i get really awkward-ish when i'm in the car with the parents of the kids i'm babysitting for and they're trying to have a conversation. i don't know why i get so nervous but sometimes when i replay it it my head i feel like i was being rude some of the time. for any one who's a parent, what would you think of this sort of behavior. do you even notice it?

Yes, we notice but we understand that you may not feel comfortable talking with us. We're adults and your a teenager, so we might have different things to talk about.

Its ok not to say anything unless the adult starts the conversation.

that is toatlly normal. The babysitters always feel awquard when the paretn is around... even before they leave and are getting ready to go. As a parent I don't take that as a bad sign.

I dont really get that way cause i babysit family friends kids or friends kids but maybe if it was a family I didnt know I would. I fell weird when you walk in to a home and you dont know the kid your babysitting but maybe its one of your crushes little sisters which has actually happened to me=\. Or when you dont know anyone there.

as a parent and being older than you we do understand you see us as old and think that we would have nothing to talk about don't worry we are not offended we fully understand and when you get to know the parents you will feel more relaxed and so will they and you will find you do have things you can talk about

I think for any of us who have ever babysat, that it was always the same way for us around the parents, its ok though, they probably know and try to make you feel better.

I am a parent, and I also babysat as a teenager. We know what it's like, and that it's awquard. Don't feel bad :)
