You have to be 18 in CA. But some shops will tattoo you at 16 if you bring in a parent.

18, but in some places they will tattoo 16 year old with a parent. It depends on the local laws (not sure in your area)
Don't get one at a place that will tattoo minors, you will regret them (I've spent a LOT of money fixing a few I got when I was 14-16.) You get bad work from bad artists that way.

18 without a parent, 16 with one. I'm getting one in a couple of months on my 16th birthday it's gonna either be the Miami Hurricanes U or the Miami Hurricanes Ibis Mascot Sebastian.

check the laws in your state. Most 18 but there are states that allow 16 with parental consent. You can simply call tat shop and ask how old .

In ALL places regardless YOU HAVE TO BE 18! There are SOME places that will do it at 16 w/ parental permission...but you do NOT want to go to a place that is willing to risk losing their license to tattoo an underage person w/out parental permission because you don't know what other things they are lax on if they're willing to do that.

normally you have to be 18. But if you have a parent with you or you are legally emancipated you can get one at 16

you obviously aren't old enough to get a tattoo or you wouldn't be asking and i would not trust a tattoo shop to tattoo me that is comfortable letting a minor get tattooed illegally. any place that isn't worried about losing their lisence for tattooing illegally is probably not worried about sanitary conditions either. just wait until you are 18 years old. it will give you something to look forward to.
