Lil Brat -

To be honest, your best bet is your friends. They can serve as a buffer and screen out people who are wrong for you. If they're dropping duds on you, perhaps it's time for a little talk about what's wrong with the candidates they've been presenting.

Beyond that, make sure you're enjoying every other aspect of your life. Because when you're happy and carefree, it'll shine through and people will see that spark.

Just don't think of your singleness as a problem or something to overcome. Just make sure you're loving life and let love (or at least a good man) find you.

Good luck!
James

Okay Lil Brat, start with learning to accept yourself. Learn to love yourself, to accept yourself as you are, without judgment. If you can truly love yourself, you will find others will respect you. Be the kind of person you would like to have as a friend. If you can do this, you will choose only those persons who honor you, and who you are willing to honor. Looking at a person's friends will tell you what that person thinks about themself. AS to meeting new friends, there's nothing wrong with the internet, nothing wrong with bars. But, start with asking your married friends for references. Look around at work. Check out the gym or supermarket. Some women try going to Home Depot (look for guys without wedding rings). Join a cycling club, running club, dancing group. Take some night courses at a local university or college. Join a group (or start your own) to learn a language. Good luck.
