Unfortunately a lot of old laws still exist and unless they are used they get forgotten! I would push to have that changed. It is vial to think that at one point it was considered ok to rape a child or anyone for that matter!

Children cannot legally have sex until the age of 16 in Vermont. "Rape" as you call it is not legal in Vermont.
Perhaps you should check your "facts" before trying to stir up trouble online.

I was reading that in September of 2006 they were trying to make torture and rape legal in Vermont but didn't find anything that it passed. If they do make it legal then we have some sick congressmen out there.

Consentual age is a vague number. In WA state, the age of consent is also 16, but it can only be with someone no more than 24 months older. I found this out because a friend of mine who was 18 was dating a girl who was 16. Her dad tried to press charges and that's how the law was discovered (friend was actually only 17 months older).

Its really really not. I dont know what you are talking about. The age of consent in Vermont is 16 - is that too young in your opinion?

I didn't know it was. Maybe some one should ask the government officials why and get it changed. Rape should not be legal anyway for any reason. Those people should be casterated.

until last year bestiality was legal here but some guy died trying to have sex with a horse and so now we have laws against it

wow i did not know that!!! but that is just horrible!!! how can anyone allow this outrage??? people should defently try to change that law.
