Should I change my phone # just to avoid someone?? I've been trying to forget about someone I used to date. We live in different states and its not gonna work out. But this person keeps texting me and saying things like" How are you" or "I miss you". I want to forget about this person. Everytime this person contacts me, I keep thinking that theres a chance where in reality there isnt.

Oh...and I did tell this person I didnt want to talk anymore. I did let this person know my feelings, but he keeps contacting me. This person wants to be friends, but I told him that I wasnt interested.

In honesty, if you know you don't want to contact the person, and you know it is best for you not to speak with him when he calls you, then change it!
When I graduated college and I moved, I obviously had to get a new number for my area, but when I did, I made sure he didn't get the new number! I knew I didn't have the self control to not talk to him if he called me. It worked!
Up til the time I moved, we would always randomly text on occasion. Mostly when we were lonely and thought we would try it again, but it always ended the same way. And so when I moved, I realized that I would cut all ties! Terrible, but I never even told him goodbye, I just left! Yes, we had mutual friends, but I told them how important it was for him to not know my number or where I was! It's been 3 years now, and I'm better off and even married now!

No. You should just call (no texting, a let down text hurts) and just say that you don't want to continue dating this person. If they don't take the hint, then go to such measures. But, you're an adult. Act like one.

well you shouldn't change your # incase like one time the person really really needs to contact you and just tell the person how you feel and ask the person to please stop texting you!?!? our tell the the person that you are going to tell the cops if the person doesn't stop!?!? i dont know but i hope this helps!?!?

Ive known people to change their numbers for that reason. But if you do, you should show him some consideration and tell him how you feel. you dont think that it wont work, and so on. I dont think you need to tell him your changing your number cause he wont stop calling. you can always tell him if he dont stop calling that you will change your number. its all up to you.
good luck!
