I keep hearing it in songs, and i don't know what it means! like in the song 'la vie boheme' from rent, roger and collins sing 'dires ire, dires ira' or something like that.

Do u mean 'Dies Irae'? Literally it means "Day of Wrath". In Catholicism it is the sequence of a Requiem Mass..
