i've always tried to inhale and exhale deeply, but it never really works and instead gets me even more frustrated, BECAUSE it doesn't work. ironic, huh?

Go for a walk -- as long a walk as you can. Look around and see what there is to see. It will help you feel better and give you something different to think about other than what made you mad.

When I am really angry I like to take a lil cat nap. If I can't find a way to completely distract myself I end up focusing on whatever was making me angry for the entire day! I hate being mad. If I can fall asleep, there's a really good chance that I'll wake up feeling relaxed and not be thinking about the stressor.

Do something to distract yourself from the problem, like you are doing now on your PC. Put on some music you like. Sometimes I just have to let it "wear off." It goes away after awhile. I know, easy for me to say, but it's the only thing I can think of right now.

Edit: I agree about going for a walk but it's 1:13 AM where I'm at so I didn't think of that.

Aside from breathing deeply, perhaps try listening to a song you enjoy or count to 10. There are lots of techniques, but there is one simple solution. Try to find something you can do to take yourself away from the situation. It is best if you can find a way to think about the problem (away from who or whatever is the problem). Also, if you have people you can trust, it is best to talk to them about whatever is troubling you. If you can take time to think things through before reacting, then you can act in a manner that is most beneficial to yourself, others, and your situation.

In the heat of the moment, relax your body. I'm talking shoulders, neck, arms, legs, just feel like jello. Close your eyes. Breathe in deep through your nose, when you think you've breathed in deep, breathe in deeper, and do this SLOW. Than after you've breathed in as deep as possible, start to exhale as slowly as possible through your mouth, and after you've breathed out as deep as you can, try to breathe out more. If you do this a few times you'll become light headed and feel amazingly relaxed. The best thing about this is, it only takes a moment and can be done anywhere.

I hope this doesn't seem like bad advise, but is there any way you could just try not giving a f**k? I guess it depends on why your mad, but remember, it will be better soon and eventually the problem will go away so try not to spend too much time pizzed.

Go do some exercise or take a walk around the block. Exercise causes the brain to produce endorphins which make you feel better.

Count Numbers 20 to 1. Walk as fast as you can to get away. Think its not worth it because life is too short.

Try and think of your fav place. Think of your next vacation.

I would have to agree that going for a walk is always good and refreshing!
