You can not like our president... you can not support the war... you can not support the president...but every one SHOULD support our troops!!! I feel that ppl get supporting the president/troops confused. Reguardless of what our gov is doing.. we should all support our troops!!! Thats is our sons, daughters, wifes, and husbands over seas.... and they should get all the support possible. They are what keep this counrty free!!

I totally agree with Machine_h. I'm the wife of a retired soldier and I've seen both sides. I hated to see him fight but I supported him all the way. I have always felt that he sacrificed 20 years for a selfish America that didn't give a rip about him or what he was doing. I still see the same thing happening now. You're right Machine-h, we can't go back but if you remember correctly, back there the people were gung ho on getting the bad guys (after 9-11). How dare someone do that to the one and only America. Now it feels bad and no one wants to continue. Pull your thumb out of your mouth and see things for what they really are. Evil is rampant and our men are putting their lives on the line each and every day for selfish Americans. It's time to give those men the support they need to get the job done. God speed to the best of the best, the American Soldier!!!

At first, I supported the troops, the war, and by consequence, the President's decision.
Later, I only supported the troops - but not the war or the President.
Now, I support the troops by believing they should be brought back home. And also, I don't support all the troops - not the ones who act dishonorably by raping, randomly killing, torturing others.
War is hell (a general said that), and it makes people do crazy things... and it often makes people go crazy as well. Support the troops by delivering them from hell.

OK, I'm a soldier thats been in the Army for 10 years. I've been to Iraq...twice. I've been there, done that, blah blah blah.
What I'm trying to comprehend...still...is the mentality held by some of you folks. You can't go back in time and fix things. You have to deal with whats on the table NOW.
The military represents our country and is an extension of it.
No matter how much you disagree with Bush, his buddies, his policies, or his bad syntax, you CANNOT be behind the troops, and not be behind the mission they are prosecuting and trying to accomplish.
Can you not comprehend that?
Be anti-Bush all you want, thats your right, however, we are there, like it or not, and saying "we support our troops" is nothing but words when you do not support our mission, because that means you support us in words ONLY. Not in your hearts.
Believe me, when we have down time, thats some of the stuff we talk about. Some guys even said they would have liked it better if it had been like it was in Vietnam, when soldiers came home they were spat upon and called baby killers, rather than have a facade of support, but be silently cursed. Because when you curse the leaders and the government, you are, in a way, cursing those that work for it.
Think about that.

I support the troops because It's not their fault they have to go to war. It's president Bush's fault. So I support the troops.

I support the troops, but not what President Bush is considering about them. I don't like how he is sending more and more of our troops over there to fight for something hardly anyone knows were fighting about! He is being ridiculous, risking more lives just make it seem what he is doing is sane!
I really can't wait until he is out of office!

You are exactly right the Troops are so brave and it so sad to see them being put in a meat grinder everyday, their families destroyed and that Crazy man keeps sending in more. I support the Troops in all they do but Bush I support nothing he does are ever has done. He is very sick man and he needs to be put in jail for War Crimes that he has done and is still doing along with help of Al Capone putting out the orders

YES, but how can you support you troops:
___against war: soldiers, who are anti war, will take you words as excuse to lack of their duties and force them to the diligent ones! Diligent ones are discouraged and lose concentration on their duty - get kill is inevitable!
___support war: soldiers will know the people behind their back and will help them as they needed!

I am with you all the way; no matter why the troops are there or who sent them, they are there bcause they believe in the United States of America and it's freedoms...but the reasoning and tactics used by the pres. make it difficult for people to support both. The American People cannot stand the wool being pulled over their eyes, least of all by their own government.
