Some UTIs go away without becoming serious. Our body has mechanisms to deal with infection, and overusing antibiotics is terrible for your immune system and makes the pathogen more and more resistant.
But sometimes they are needed. If you have a UTI that is making you bleed, then it is past the point of waiting. Go be seen by a doctor ASAP.

If you're bleeding when you urinate, then you almost definitely have a UTI. Go to see a doctor to make sure that's what this is and not something more serious. The blood comes from the infection in your urinary tract. Are you sure you told your mom that you are urinating blood? If you don't have a regular doctor, this can be treated at any walk-in type clinic. (Some CVS and Walgreens stores now have clinics staffed by nurse practitioners just for this sort of illness.)
It's not going to do anything except make you more miserable and possibly cause further damage if you don't get this treated. It can spread to your kidneys, which can be really bad.

I had 2 UTI's last year and the dr.s always gave me antibiotics. But I have had the same sensation several times and didn't go to the doctor and the pain and the wanting to go frequently did stop. I don't know if by not having gone to the dr. that it wasn't resolved so it will keep coming back. I had a little blood only one of the times that I went to the dr. but I don't know where it comes from. I drank alot of water. This is key. I try to drink 8 glasses a day so it doesn't come back. Try also cranberry juice. Oh, and never hold it, always go to the bathroom asap.

it all depends on they symptoms that you are having. some people are found on random tests to have bladder infections but they didn't have any symptoms. there is no defined answer as to whether or not these patients should be treated. i assume the blood is in your urine (not your period)? you can get bladder infections with viral illnesses too (such as the viruses that cause colds), those won't be helped by antibiotics. viral UTIs can cause bleeding. if you're having symptoms (buring/pain with urination, increased urination, abdominal discomfort) you should go to the doc and get antibiotics. the infection can go away on itself (with your immune system fighting it), but it could also get worse. if you do decide to hold off then you need to go to a doc right away if you develop nausea, vomiting, fever, chills or side (kidney) pain-- those are symtoms of kidney infection.

you can do home remedies to treat this such as drinking cranberry juice or taking azo which helps the burning, but to really get rid of the infection so it doesn't return you should see a doctor..it's not dangerous if you wait to long but if you don't see a doctor the infection can return very easily...to make sure the infection is completely gone a doctor prescription 2 get rid of the bacteria is the best solution

The blood comes from the kidneys letting red blood cells pass into the urine, which is a sign of kidney malfunction. That's something you should see a doctor for. As for the infection, drink cranberry juice (100% cranberry juice) and take lots of vitamin C, which aids in immune system performance.

If you don't treat the urinary tract infection, it may become chronic. Conduct urinalysis and urine culture in a clinical lab.
Please see the web pages for more details on Urinary tract infection.

GO TO THE DOCTOR ASAP!!! Urinary tract infections do not go away by themselves!!! I would suggest you go to the Emergency Ward RIGHT NOW!! Tell your mom to go with you. I had a urinary tract infection and did not know, I was so sick. My husband took me to the hospital emergency ward, they said that I had a UTI that had spread to my kidneys. They prescribed antibiotics for me.

i will assume that your mother is not a doctor.
you need to have a urine test. a bladder infection will NOT go away on its own. drink lots of fluids and get tested immediately. this can become dangerous if it affects your kidneys.
